Occupation & Futura (Progress from Brief 1)
After deciding that I wanted to pursue the letter 'I' design from my first brief I began to look at ways in which typography can involve three dimensions.
This typography shows how 3D type can work by intersecting with each other, I chose this piece to look at because I though the shadow and contract of colour worked well as well as the change of scale (end of being small).
I also looked at this typography because "bold" is in a incredibly large 3D text which shows how typography can occupy space and therefore I could apply this to my own work in illustrator by enlarging letterforms and their width.
This typography is not only 3D but the text is broken up and this idea could work in my own designs based on my 'I' from my first brief. I will look at how I can break up my letterforms through illustrator from looking at this.
I chose to look at this typography because it has been made using other materials, and if the brief was not based on illustrator I think the idea of occupation could be further developed in hand rendered forms by actually making three dimensional letterforms out of materials and photographing them.
